Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin was refunded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to continue participation in the Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Death in the Young (SDY) projects. The grant funds statewide surveillance of SUIDs in Wisconsin, as well as sudden deaths in children ages 0 to 19 who die from cardiac and neurological causes in four southeast Wisconsin counties. The grant will last five years, from Sept. 30, 2018 until Sept. 29, 2023. The injury prevention team is excited to continue building on the work that has already been accomplished in partnership with Child Death Review teams in Wisconsin.
