Mental Health Emergencies
Pediatric Mental Health Emergencies
Mental and behavioral health crises in children are on the rise. There has been a 31% increase in emergency department visits among children 12 to 17 years old. Emergency professionals often lack the special training needed to care for these young patients. To address this, WI EMSC is leading the Preparing Wisconsin Emergency Professionals for Pediatric Mental Health Emergencies project to create training tools for EMS and ED workers statewide.
