Our food security initiative took the stage at the Wisconsin Public Health Association’s annual conference to share an exciting milestone – three years of collaborative work through the FoodCare Coalition!
What is the FoodCare Coalition?
The FoodCare Coalition brings together organizations from across the food systems and health care sectors with a shared mission of improving health outcomes for our communities. What started as a vision has grown into a dedicated network of 11 partners working together to bridge the gap between nutrition and health care.
We’re proud to collaborate with:
- Children’s Wisconsin
- Chorus Community Health Plan
- Data You Can Use
- Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin
- Milwaukee Health Department
- NourishMKE
- Rooted and Rising Washington Park
- The Medical College of Wisconsin
- Willbridge
- Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
Powerful progress
Our recent evaluation findings revealed when food systems and health care organizations come together for learning and relationship building, real change happens. The Coalition has created a space where different sectors can understand each other’s unique strengths, navigate shared decision-making and work toward common goals.
By connecting the dots between food access and health outcomes, we’re building a stronger, more integrated approach to community wellness.
Looking ahead
As we continue this important work, we’re inspired by what’s possible when organizations embrace collaboration. The FoodCare Coalition proves that together, we can create lasting change for the communities we serve.
