Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin’s injury prevention and death review initiative is thrilled to share our new one-pager, highlighting our statewide work to prevent child deaths through collaboration, training, prevention programs and data-driven strategies.
What we do
- Technical support and training: We help local Child Death Review (CDR) and Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) teams review child and infant deaths to identify risk factors and recommend prevention strategies. Our team provides training, guidance and tools to help teams succeed.
- Implement prevention projects: Sleep Baby Safe is a suite of tools and training for professionals who provide safe sleep education to families and other caregivers. We manage the Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Case Registry for Wisconsin, which allow us to closely track infant deaths to identify trends, enhance data quality and implement prevention strategies.
- Manage data and implement prevention strategies: We help teams use a standardized data system to improve case documentation, evaluate programs and identify trends. Our team translates data into prevention recommendations that influence policy, programming and community behavior.
Together, we discuss, prevent and save lives – one child, one team and one community at a time.
