Initiative: Childhood Lead Poisoning Elimination Project
Lead Poisoning | Childhood Lead Poisoning Elimination Project

This project is in partnership with the Wisconsin Childhood Lead Poisoning Elimination Plan 2010, Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The Alliance helps to organize and manage statewide and local coalitions of health care systems, public health agencies, academic institutions, school systems, community based organizations, home builders, business leaders, caregivers, and families to serve as effective advocates for healthy lead-free children and homes.

The Alliance and its partners help build healthier communities by:

  • Educating families about the danger of lead poisoning.
  • Removing or controlling lead paint hazards in older homes.
  • Testing and treating young children for increased blood lead levels.
  • Advocating public policies at every level that help eliminate environmental lead hazards and childhood lead poisoning.

Our coalition stakeholders work together to implement Wisconsin’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Elimination Plan 2010. View a summary of the plan or the full plan.
