State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services
In the early 1990’s, leaders at the Division of Public Health recognized the need for greater emphasis on child health services and the systems in which they are delivered. The state desired a non-government entity that could foster collaboration among partners vested in children’s health. The state subsequently, provided financial support through a Maternal Child Health (MCH) grant to spearhead the effort.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) recognized this effort would enhance their mission, of ensuring a healthy future for children, and became a founding partner as well. CHW took the lead and provided matching funds and continues to serve as the fiscal agent and home for the Alliance today. Children’s Health Education Center, a program of CHW, shares its resources with the Alliance by providing space and dedicating the position of Injury Prevention Manager to the Alliance’s childhood injury prevention initiative.

American Family Children’s Hospital
As another founding partner, American Family Children’s Hospital (at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics) provided guidance and leadership in the development of the Alliance through the passion of Dr. Jack Pascoe. Pascoe’s vision for improving the standard of children’s health brought other valuable partners to the Alliance.

Delta Dental of Wisconsin

As the Alliance grew and focused on specific child health needs, oral health care rose to the top of the list. In 2004, a partnership was established with Delta Dental, the largest dental insurance carrier in Wisconsin, around our common mission of wanting access to quality dental care for all. Delta Dental financially supports our oral health efforts statewide and specific sealant programs for underserved populations.
